Two years of complaints. Checkers' answer: more bikes.

Residents have asked Checkers Sixty60 since 2024 to keep its delivery motorbikes off a residential shortcut. Instead, weekend traffic on the street has risen every month since July 2026, by more than a third, and the question of why riders cannot use the main road has gone unanswered since August.

Two years of asking. More bikes every month.

  • Residents have asked Checkers Sixty60 to stop using our residential street as a shortcut since 2024.
  • October weekends average ≈305 passes a day, more than a third up on July (213 seen on camera, up from 153).
  • Last weekend, 17 and 18 October 2026: ≈690 passes in two days. The three busiest days on record are all this month.
  • Why can riders not use the main road, which takes the same time? No answer since 17 August.

Date: 19 October 2026

For about two years, residents have asked Checkers Sixty60 to keep its delivery bikes off our residential street. In stores, by email, by phone and in writing. We sent route maps. We published the data.

Checkers Sixty60 has been told, in detail and in writing, what this does to the people who live here. Its answer is more bikes.

More every month

Average Checkers Sixty60 passes per weekend day:

  • July: ≈224 estimated (153 seen on camera)
  • August: ≈231 (159 seen)
  • September: ≈244 (170 seen)
  • October so far: ≈305 (213 seen)

July is the month Checkers Sixty60 said the shortcut had been blocked. Traffic has gone up every month since.

Last weekend set the pace: ≈331 passes on Saturday 17 October and ≈359 on Sunday 18 October, 520 of them seen on camera. That is a Checkers Sixty60 bike roughly every two minutes, from 08:00 to 20:00, two days in a row. The three busiest days since recording began are 11, 17 and 18 October 2026.

The question that never gets answered

There is a main-road route that takes about the same time. Residents have asked one question, again and again: why can riders who are not delivering here not use it?

On 17 August 2026, Checkers Sixty60 said the routes would be "taken into account". Since then there has been no route change, no trial, no timeline, and no reply to any follow-up. As of 19 October 2026, the question is still unanswered.

Control, or the will to use it

Checkers Sixty60 keeps pointing at individual drivers and navigation apps. But these are Checkers Sixty60 deliveries, on routes Checkers Sixty60 dispatches. An operation that can put a third more bikes on this street in three months can also tell them which road to use.

Either Checkers Sixty60 cannot control where its riders go, or it has chosen not to. After two years, residents are owed an answer either way.

What would fix it

  • Keep riders who are not delivering on our street on the main road.
  • Answer the route question, in writing.
  • Retire the loud BigBoy bikes, the Velocity and the Pacer.

Every day's count is on the evidence page, with a photo of every bike the camera saw. If this happens on your street too, make it public.

Make it public.

Private complaints were ignored for months. Public reviews are much harder to ignore.
