Over 300 a day, and Checkers still doesn't care.
- Both of the last two weekends, every single day went over 300 Checkers Sixty60 bikes. Before 11 October it had never once happened.
- I've been begging Checkers to fix this for over two years. They just let it carry on.
- Nobody will tell me why riders who aren't delivering here can't use the main road.
Date: 27 October 2026
Over 300 a day. That's how many times Checkers Sixty60 delivery bikes now go past my house, on the residential street I live on. And that isn't a bad day anymore, it's a normal one. I only run the camera on weekends, but weekdays are no different.
Last weekend, 24 and 25 October, the camera picked up 490 of them. It misses some, and it stops recording before the evening's over, so our estimate for the two days is ≈652.
The numbers
Here's every day I've recorded since 10 October:
- Saturday 10 October: ≈283 (214 seen on camera)
- Sunday 11 October: ≈362 (273 seen)
- Saturday 17 October: ≈331 (251 seen)
- Sunday 18 October: ≈359 (269 seen)
- Saturday 24 October: ≈329 (248 seen)
- Sunday 25 October: ≈323 (242 seen)
Before 11 October, the worst day we'd ever recorded was ≈294. Now five of the last six have gone over 300. October weekends averaged ≈307 a day (215 actually seen on camera). In July, the month Checkers told us the shortcut was blocked, it was ≈224.
300 bikes between 8am and 8pm works out to one roughly every two minutes, for twelve hours straight. Most of them are BigBoy Velocities and Pacer 200s, which to our ears are the loudest bikes on the road. You never get a break. One goes past and you're already waiting for the next.
Over two years of begging
I've been begging Checkers to sort this out for over two years. I've pleaded with them and explained, over and over, what it's like to live with this noise. I've complained in their stores, emailed, phoned, put it in writing and sent them route maps. I even built a camera to count the bikes, and I publish every single one.
They know exactly what this is doing to us, and they let it carry on anyway. Every month there are more bikes, not fewer. I don't have another word for that except heartless. As far as I can tell, to a mega corporation like Checkers the people living on this street just don't matter.
All I keep asking is this: if a rider isn't delivering on our street, why can't they use the main road? It takes the same time. On 17 August Checkers said the routes would be "taken into account". That was over two months ago. Nothing has changed and nobody has answered.
Checkers keeps putting it on individual riders and navigation apps. So either they have no control over the people delivering their own orders, or the promise they made on 3 July, that the shortcut was blocked, was never kept. Since that promise the camera alone has seen 5,918 of their bikes on this street, and that's only on the 35 days I recorded.
I was going to send them another email this week. I didn't bother. After over two years it felt pointless, so I'm putting it here instead, where everyone can read it.
What would fix it
It isn't complicated:
- If you're not delivering on our street, use the main road.
- Answer the route question, in writing.
- Get rid of the loud BigBoy bikes, the Velocity and the Pacer.
Every day's count is on the evidence page, with a photo of every bike the camera caught. If this is happening on your street too, please make it public.
